The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as a whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The Milan Unit of United Methodist Women consists of the 4 circles listed below. Each circle is unique in doing their part of missions and the circles develop women who know God in a more personal way. It is through Pledges and projects to raise money for missions that the kingdom of Christ is expanding. The future is bright for these women, young and old, here at Milan FUMC who call themselves United Methodist Women. They invite you to join them!
Bessie Holt/Wesley circle who meets the first Thursday of the month at the church at 1:30pm. These ladies are devoted in maintaining the purpose of the UMW. Lillian Rust circle who meets periodically as a group and is instrumental in furthering the Princess Project which sews jumpers for little girls which are being sent all over the world. So far as of 2019, they have sewn 2000 dresses. Sara's circle who is our younger women's circle and who meet through the medium of technology. They are a great support group for Sis's Circle and when help is needed on mission projects. Sis's circle is our youngest circle as the ages of these young ladies range from pre-teen to the teen years. Their desire to be in mission is great and they create crafts to send to foreign soils and raise money to fill shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
