Our mission is to help children grow and learn in a Christian environment.
Tennessee Star Rating
CLC is evaluated annually by the Department of Human Services. We are assessed in many areas which are stated on our Report Card. Parents can view our Report Card outside the Director's office. We are pleased to announce we received a 3-Star Rating.
We start excepting children 18 months to 5 years of age. It is a first serve basis with the exception of members of FUMC Milan will be given top priority. Children must be potty-trained in our 3 and 4 year old classes. Parents and children must take a tour and meet with the Directors before you begin at CLC. The Directors will conduct an orientation after the tour. Parents will be given the monthly calendar, medical release form, immunization form, and influenza form, and a copy of the TN Rules and Regulations. Parents are required to fill out our Student Package and pay a non-refundable registration fee of $25 per child or $40 per family.
At CLC, parents can decide to be part time or full time. CLC has 2 day, 3 day, and full time options available. We do recommend our Pre-K students be full time to create a routine like Kindergarten. We are open from 8 a.m. -2 p.m., and we follow the Milan Special School District School Schedule. Drop off is from 8:00-8:30 and pick up is from 1:45-2:00. We close promptly at 2:00. CLC DOES NOT provide lunch for your child. Parents are responsible for packing a lunch and a snack for the day. As we all know, healthy eating is key to helping children grow and learn, so we do ask that parents pack a nutritious lunch and snack for the day. We also ask parents to cut up small fruits and veggies. Listed below are our options: 2 Days (Tuesday & Thursday) 3 Days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) Full Time (M-F)
We follow the TN-ELDS, Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards, as well as Bible ABC Curriculum Notebook which is biblically based. Since CLC is a ministry of FUMC, we do incorporate the bible into our daily lessons along with the Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes, Colors, and much more. We have chapel each day in the sanctuary where we pray, have a short devotional, and sing. At CLC we do offer a balance of teacher directed activities as well as free choice play.
